What the Pattern Decoder does

Crochet patterns are written in shorthand. A line like R5: *4sc, inc* around (30) packs a whole round into a few characters. The decoder expands each abbreviation, explains the repeat, and checks that your stitch count adds up, so you know the round is right before you start it.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with UK terms?

Repeat the stitches between the asterisks until you reach the end of the round.

Is my pattern saved anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
